Data & Privacy Policy

We care about your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Effective: 4 June 2026
Last Updated: 4 June 2026

1. Introduction

Micro-Influx (“Micro-Influx,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an influencer-marketing platform that connects brands with micro-influencers (“creators”) to plan, run, and measure marketing campaigns (the “Platform”). The Platform is accessible at https://www.micro-influx.com and through any related applications, subdomains, and services.

We take the privacy of brands, creators, and visitors seriously. This Data & Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.

NDPA 2023 Compliance

This Policy is designed to comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the regulations and guidance issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Where we process the personal data of individuals located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or other regions, we also seek to align with applicable laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

2. Who Is Responsible for Your Data (Data Controller)

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

Micro-Influx HQ

Lagos, Nigeria

For some processing activities (for example, when a brand engages a creator for a campaign), the brand and Micro-Influx may act as independent or joint controllers of certain data. Section 8 explains this in more detail.

3. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to personal data we process about:

1

And their authorised business representatives

2

Out of Scope: This policy does not cover the privacy practices of third-party services we integrate with (such as social-media platforms, payment processors, or analytics providers), which are governed by their own individual policies.

  • Payment processors and banking partners: transaction confirmation of payments, escrowed deposits, payouts, and official bank chargebacks.
  • Public sources: publicly available profile information used to enrich, verify, and complete platform profiles.

5. How We Use Your Information

01

To provide and manage the Platform accounts and custom dashboards.

02

To match brands with recommended creators whose followers fit their campaigns.

03

To run AI checks to verify authenticity, protecting against follower fraud.

04

To facilitate campaign management, briefs, and team deliverables.

05

To handle financial escrow and Naira payouts securely.

06

To report campaign ROI, reach, and engagement metrics.

07

To send vital platform alerts, status updates, and newsletter emails.

08

To defend and secure the Platform against abuse, debugging, and hacking.

09

To comply with legal, tax, accounting, and anti-fraud mandates.

7. AI Verification and Automated Processing

A core feature of Micro-Influx is automated verification of creator authenticity. Our systems analyse engagement patterns, follower characteristics, and account activity to estimate whether an audience is genuine. This may influence whether a creator is recommended to brands.

Human Review Guarantee

This processing supports fraud prevention and platform integrity. If an automated assessment significantly affects you (for example, by limiting your visibility on the Platform), you may request human review by contacting privacy@micro-influx.com, and we will explain the outcome and, where appropriate, reconsider it.

8. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as described below:

1

Between Brands and Creators

When a brand and a creator engage on a campaign, relevant profile, contact, content, and performance data is shared so the campaign can proceed. Once shared, each party is responsible for its own use of that data in line with applicable law and this Platform's terms.

2

Service Providers (Processors)

We share data with vendors who help us run the Platform, including hosting and cloud infrastructure, payment processors and banks, AI/analytics providers, email and communications tools, and customer-support systems. These providers act on our instructions under contract.

3

Legal and Safety

We may disclose data to comply with the law, enforce our terms, respond to lawful requests by public authorities, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Micro-Influx, our users, or others.

4

Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

5

With Your Consent

For any other sharing, we will ask for your explicit permission first.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure traffic, and improve the Platform.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

Required for the basic Platform functionality (e.g., login session authentication, security checks).

Functional Cookies

Remember custom configurations such as language preferences and user interface selections.

Analytics Cookies

You can manage non-essential cookies through our interactive cookie banner and your local browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Platform works.

10. International Data Transfers

Micro-Influx is operated from Nigeria, but some of our service providers may store or process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data outside Nigeria (or, for EU/UK users, outside the EEA/UK), we put appropriate safeguards in place — such as ensuring the recipient is in an adequate jurisdiction or relying on standard contractual clauses — consistent with the NDPA and applicable law. You may request details of these safeguards at privacy@micro-influx.com.

11. Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy, including to:

Account Maintenance

How to exercise your rights:

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@micro-influx.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by law (generally within one month under the NDPA/GDPR). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

13. Data Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed password storage, access controls, escrow handling of campaign funds, and monitoring for unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure; if a personal-data breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify the NDPC and affected individuals as required by law.

14. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact privacy@micro-influx.com.

15. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may link to third-party websites and services (such as social-media platforms and payment providers). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies before sharing data with them.
